Learn to Communicate About the Causes that Matter to You
The EYP is home to thousands of alumni who’ve grown into experts across various fields, and through our Mentorship Programme, we connect them with the next generation of EYPers to transfer experience and insight, or just offer support.

We asked some of our mentors and mentees from the 2026 programme to share with us the value they see in mentorship work, and how it’s been going so far. Check out what Anastasiia, Haris, Mohamed, and Tom have to say!
“For me, the European Youth Parliament mentorship programme is not just about giving back to the community. It is equally an opportunity to reflect on my own career path — the achievements, the mistakes, and the pivots — and to translate those experiences into practical lessons and guidance for a younger member of the EYP network.
I hope that by sharing my journey, I can help my mentee see a wider range of opportunities and career paths, make more informed choices, and feel less uncertain in moments of transition. EYP has played a crucial role in my own development, equipping me with essential soft skills, confidence, and a strong network — all of which continue to shape my professional trajectory.
This time, my engagement with my mentee took on a more coaching-oriented format. Rather than just providing direct advice, I focused on asking the right questions and facilitating self-reflection — helping to clarify goals, identify opportunities, and better understand personal constraints.
What made this experience particularly meaningful was the realisation that, despite the difference in years, both my mentee and I found ourselves at a similar point in our lives — navigating questions of career direction, transitions, and potential entry points into new fields. In that sense, the mentorship became a two-way process, offering valuable insights and clarity for both of us.”
– Anastasiia, Mentor
“What is really valuable about the programme is the opportunity to translate my EYP and Student experiences into a professional context. Solon’s extensive experience and deep career knowledge is a real asset when trying to enter the world of work. His feedback and advice really help me improve and focus on the important things. I really look forward to the rest of the programme and for his continued mentorship in the future.”
– Tom, Mentee
“The mentorship programme is a completely enriching experience and I am grateful to be a part of it. What makes it even better is that it is not merely a one-way street of improved understanding and growth, both individuals can and have benefited from it. Mohamed is a shining example of resilience and reinvention in the face of adversity and change, mentoring him and learning from him at the same time has been wonderful so far.”
– Haris, Mentor
“The mentorship programme has given me the opportunity to learn from Haris, someone with experience, direction, and genuine interest in my growth. I’m thankful for the partnership and the progress we’ve made together. I’ve gained valuable insights, strengthened my skills, and appreciated having a mentor who challenges and supports me. It’s been a genuinely positive and motivating experience.”
