The Rebuild Ukraine Ambassadors gathered in Berlin to develop ideas across five key areas for the sustainable reconstruction of Ukraine.

The Rebuild Ukraine Ambassadors Programme is an initiative by the European Youth Parliament (EYP), supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and the E.ON Foundation, designed to empower young people to actively shape Ukraine’s future. This program ensures youth voices play a vital role in the sustainable recovery and long-term resilience of Ukraine, promoting collective European efforts toward this goal.
This year, 20 young Ambassadors from across Europe were selected to address five core areas crucial to Ukraine’s recovery: school education, cultural heritage, urbanisation and smart cities, cybersecurity, and energy security.
Before meeting in person, the Ambassadors connected in two virtual sessions. These early online sessions allowed them to conduct preliminary research and begin formulating essential questions and goals for their work, providing a foundation for their efforts.
From October 10th to 13th, 2024, the Ambassadors gathered in Berlin for the first time. This meeting enabled them to expand on their virtual discussions, refine their key research questions, and work collaboratively to develop practical solutions for each focus area. Throughout the Lab, they received valuable insights from field experts, participated in peer review, and strengthened their approach to ensure impactful, achievable outcomes. Under the guidance of EYP alumni Anastasiia Ianovytska and Kristina Chelmakina, the Ambassadors concluded the Lab with a strong foundation for the next steps.
They are now prepared to draft a vision paper, which will outline their strategies and ideas in detail. This paper is set for publication early next year, aiming to reach a wider audience and contribute to the ongoing conversation on Ukraine’s sustainable path forward.
