Our work in the countries of the Eastern Partnership and Russia continues

The European Youth Parliament’s project “BASES – Building a Strong European Society” continues into a third year. Various activities of our National Committees (NCs) in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Russia and Ukraine are included in the project, such as regional, national and international sessions as well as international training events.

Through the project, the European Youth Parliament aims at strengthening civil society in the countries of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) and Russia. Especially in post-Soviet states the opportunities to participate and get active in society are limited, which is why EYP supports young volunteers in exchanging their thoughts and opinions on the future of our continent.

The Eastern Partnership covers a region where several active conflicts are still found. In the region, it is thus especially important to bring young people of different nationalities together to foster a peaceful dialogue, strengthen mutual understanding, and facilitate peaceful cooperation.

With this project EYP is also able to support a couple of younger National Committees of the EYP network and thereby build up volunteer capacities in a sustainable way.
