Autumn Board of National Committees Meeting 2023

The European Youth Parliament (EYP) recently held its Autumn Board of National Committees (BNC) Meeting in Berlin.

This significant network event united key stakeholders of the EYP network, including representatives from over 30 countries, the BNC Board, representatives of the Governing Body, and the International Office. The main emphasis was on discussing policy updates and sharing thoughts on the network’s current status. Through these discussions, the boards of national member organisations, led by devoted volunteers, had an opportunity to deliberate and vote on proposals and policies aimed at advancing the network.

The Board of National Committees serves as the general assembly of National Committees and represents them at the international level. This board has full co-decision powers with the Governing Body, meaning that any policy proposals from the Governing Body must first be approved by the Board of National Committees. This board can also take the initiative to propose and recommend changes to the Governing Body. Find out more about how our organisation works here:

This meeting included 8 workshops, 7 policy proposals, and 8 topics of debate, in addition to updates from the Governing Body, the International Office, and the BNC Board. The gathering also provided an opportunity for representatives to engage in knowledge-sharing and networking, aiming to promote even more cooperation in the future. A big focus of the weekend was also the upcoming European Elections 2024 and the EYP’s YOUthVOTE project. The participants were also happy to welcome the Executive Director of the EYP’s umbrella organisation Schwarzkopf Foundation, Tomáš Sacher.

We would also like to thank Berliner Sparkasse for hosting our bi-annual network meeting at their beautiful premises in Wannsee, Berlin.
