#WithRefugees

Empowering young refugees and local youth to learn, lead and grow together. #WithRefugees opens doors to educational programmes, mentorships and other exciting opportunities across Europe

The European Youth Parliament (EYP) welcomes young people from all backgrounds across Europe. We want to reach out to youth from all cultures, regions and backgrounds, especially those who face difficulties joining our activities. Our goal is to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone can participate, learn and take responsibility.
Thanks to our partnership with the Ipsos Foundation and a cooperation with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), #WithRefugees helps young refugees and stateless people join our educational programmes in 40 European countries.

Inclusive Dialogue in Action: #WithRefugees at EYP International Sessions

At the 2025 International Sessions in Turku, Finland and Málaga, Spain, young people with refugee or displacement backgrounds took an active role in committee work and contributed to debates on issues such as labour market access, digital governance, climate adaptation, and European asylum policy.
Their participation strengthened discussions grounded in lived experience while offering a space to build confidence, negotiation skills, and networks across Europe.
In Málaga, the session also welcomed Anastasiia Pachina from IPSOS, the funder of the #WithRefugees project, who addressed participants at the opening of the General Assembly and emphasised the importance of including displaced young people in civic and democratic processes. The International Sessions offered participants an experience of all that the EYP stands for: empowering young people from all corners of Europe and provide them with a space to grow as open-minded, active citizens, as well as to express their perspectives on a wide range of topics while creating unforgettable memories.

A participant of the session said touchingly:

“As a refugee, I always thought that I don’t belong here but after attending EYP, I figured out that I am wrong. I belong here now cause I am living here and my future belongs to me. The people that I met made me feel more comfortable and strong!”

Our Main Activities

  • Educational Programmes:

Young refugees and local youth will participate in our educational programmes together, following EYP’s peer-to-peer methodology. At least three International Sessions and five national or regional events will be part of this initiative.

  • Research & Leadership:

Young refugee participants of our programmes will discuss topics covering some of the most urgent issues facing the world, and Europe in particular. They will be part of working groups writing resolutions to these issues, including their suggestions for actions in answer to the topic’s questions.

  • Mentorship Programme:

Young refugees get support from experienced people in our alumni network. We match mentors and mentees based on their interests and studies to help refugees build their careers and give them a head start in their country of residence.

Partnership with Ipsos Foundation

Ipsos Foundation helps our programme by sharing their expert knowledge during discussions, creating networking opportunities in 40 countries, and teaching participants about global business and market research.
