Alumni United: Driving European Climate Action

Alumni United creates a space where our alumni can stay connected, grow, and support the next generation of EYPers, while also contributing to a just transition and empowering positive change that extends beyond the EYP.

About Alumni United

Launched in July 2025, Alumni United is a three-year initiative funded by the E.ON Foundation, aimed at unlocking the potential of the EYP’s alumni community. The project focuses on leadership, professional development, and building connections within the alumni network.

EYP alumni are individuals who have participated in EYP events but are no longer active members.
Many alumni are now professionals but remain connected to EYP and wish to stay involved. Without structured support, however, they find it difficult to maintain engagement.

Alumni United aims to address this by creating accessible spaces for continued involvement, uniting alumni with experience in democratic engagement and European cooperation, particularly those now working in civil society, politics, industry, and science, with a special focus on fostering climate action.

By engaging alumni from diverse backgrounds, the project will create opportunities for connection and collaboration, ensuring the organisation benefits from the growth and experience of its former active members, while strengthening its stability and sustainability.

The Goal of Alumni United

Through Alumni United, we aim to connect our alumni with active members, creating a collaborative environment where together, they can become leaders in climate action, knowledge sharing, and European cooperation. The project’s key goals are to empower alumni as climate leaders, encouraging them to take an active role in the ongoing energy transition. Additionally, it seeks to develop leadership skills through mentorship, strengthening the connection to EYP’s mission and values, while building supportive networks through regional and professional hubs.

The Main Activities of the Project

Mentorship Programme:

Alumni are paired with current EYP members to provide professional guidance, advice, and mentoring.
Alumni Reunions & Happy Hours:

We organise local social events across Europe that provide low-barrier entry points for alumni to reconnect.
Fundraising & Networking Opportunities:

We engage in long-term fundraising efforts, such as the Circle of Friends, as well as ad-hoc campaigns, such as crowdfunding.
Alumni Talks:

Alumni share career experiences, industry insights, and knowledge with EYP members.
Expert Engagement:

Alumni provide professional insights, offering their expertise across various domains at EYP sessions.
