The 98th International Session of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) is set to take place in Tromsø, Norway from the 4th to the 12th of March 2023.
The session will bring together around 280 participants, including 70 young volunteers who will take care of the organization, academics, and media coverage. Words from the Leadership
For many centuries, some of the greatest explorers came to Tromsø to explore the Polar Arctic. They came to the region with a desire to better understand our world and left changed forever.
Tromsø 2023 is a testament to the spirit of Arctic expeditions. Adventure, Wilderness, Research, Curiosity, and Comradery are the values guiding our compass.
By focusing the topics on one specific region, the Arctic, participants will have the chance to develop a holistic understanding of the Arctic and explore the interconnectedness of their topics.
Matthias Masini (CH)
It’s been 8 months of working on Tromsø International Session, and I’m beyond excited to reach the final stage of putting this challenging yet incredible puzzle together. The EYP has always been a place of self-development, contribution, growth and personal successes and failures for me, and it’s time to get back to the organisation.
Together with my outstanding Media Team, we aim to bring the Tromsø experience to the EYP network and far beyond. With this, we invite you to join our journey and learn more about the culture, people and challenges of the Arctic with us!
Darya Skorokhod (BY)
Tromsø 2023 has been a special project for us for a long time, and we are looking forward to finally bringing life to the session and our vision for the EYP Network.
We hope our session will be a chance to create a valuable dialogue between European youth and local people in Tromsø, to learn about Arctic issues that affect us all, and to spark young Europe’s curiosity.
Embla Elde (NO) and Henning Undheim (NO)
The theme for this upcoming flagship event is “Explore, Exchange, Experience: Sparking Young Curiosity“. The conference will offer a unique opportunity for young people from across Europe to come together to explore the Arctic region, exchange ideas, and experience indigenous Sámi culture in a centre for cultural prosperity. The goal is to foster democratic engagement, innovation, sustainability, tolerance, and cooperation on both the regional and European levels.
The session will be made possible by the support of key sponsors including Erasmus+, European Youth Fund, Nordpluss, WWF, the Norwegian government, the city of Tromsø and our partners E.ON Foundation, German Savings Banks Association, and European Savings Bank Association, who will play a crucial role in ensuring its success.
