Summer Academy 2019 – Solidifying EYP as a Network

“With the Summer Academy of 2019, we
want to solidify the idea that EYP truly is a network” – Matthew Caine, Head
Trainer of the Summer Academy 2019.

Under the theme of “Fostering Collective
Knowledge”, 80 young people have gathered in Echternach, Luxembourg this
summer. Some of them joined the event to work on concrete topics for
development of their national organisations, and some joined to explore what NC
management entails. Guided by the coherent vision of the trainers team,
participants have explored a variety of topics: from leadership to pitches,
from strategies for inclusion to sustainability in events. On top of the
training content, the organising team has prepared wonderful cultural
programme, allowing the participants to truly experience Luxembourg and bond
with fellow EYPers.

All in all, the idea behind the Summer
Academy as an event was to bring the network closer, allowing trainees to
appreciate the diversity of EYP, and identify the similarities.
