No longer active in EYP but interested to meet again old friends and make new ones? The EYP Alumni Network is making it happen!
The EYP Alumni Steering Group, coordinating the activities of the Network, met in the middle of June in Berlin. After the Alumni initiative kicked off in 2017 at EYP’s 30th anniversary, a few individuals from different generations of EYPers committed to working on setting up the network and coming up with the initial projects. Early this year, new members joined the Steering Group.
Thanks to these engaged individuals and the support of the International Office and Governing Body of EYP, ‘veteran’ EYPers have the opportunity to stay in touch with the organisation after finishing their active EYP career. The main goals of the alumni initiative have revolved around enabling alumni to: (1) Return to EYP as a place to exercise active citizenship; (2) Give back to EYP; (3) Reconnect with friends and relive the EYP spirit.
Soul 🇬🇧 (started EYP in 1995), Seamus 🇮🇪 (2001), Besard 🇦🇱 (2006), Oksana 🇺🇦 (2007), Darya 🇧🇾 (2009) from the steering group, together with Maria (Governing Body) 🇷🇴 (2004), and Lukas & Helena from the IO, have brainstormed on the further development of the alumni activities during the gathering in Berlin.
The Steering group has lined out some exciting plans for the upcoming year, especially around the EYP Alumni Reunion 2019 taking place in Hamburg; they identified the key mission for the alumni network and planned few activities around it.
If you are no longer actively involved in EYP, join the vivid network of EYP alumni! Join the EYP Alumni Facebook group to keep up to date with all activities and projects, and let us know at info[@]eyp.org if you want to sign up for the EYP Alumni newsletter.
