Amidst the social, economic, and healthcare challenges that Europe is facing currently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the European Youth Parliament (EYP) is proud to announce our new partnership with EIT Health. Within the context of this partnership, we will be able to position healthcare technology and innovation as one of the pillars shaping our health-related projects this year.
EIT Health is one of the “knowledge and innovation communities” of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, promoting innovation for health and ageing. As one of the largest health initiatives in Europe, EIT Health brings together experts from business, research, and education to work together to foster a healthy environment for innovation to happen.
“EIT Health is joining forces with the EYP, one of Europe’s largest platforms for promoting debate, dialogue, and cross-fertilisation of ideas amongst Europe’s next generation of leaders. The EYP shares an ethos with EIT Health of cross border connectedness for great ideas to flourish”, says Sameena Conning, Director of External Affairs at EIT Health. “Together, we will assess the pressing healthcare topics of today, those that will have huge significance and impact on the way that healthcare will be delivered and received in the future. I am excited about our collaboration and its potential to shape the healthcare policy environment to come”.
As an international hub for young participants to exchange opinions on current political issues, the EYP is uniquely placed to bring the youth perspective into this exchange, translating young people’s proposals into meaningful calls for action to resolve the challenges that today’s healthcare systems face.
Our partnership will be featured in our upcoming Digital Health Forum, taking place from the 18th to the 21st of April, where our young participants will discuss the integration of telemedicine and digital health in primary care. We cannot wait to get started!
