EYP and YOUROPE: Empowering Inclusive Democratic Spaces for Young Europeans

The EYP proudly presents to be part of the research project YOUROPE, focussing on inclusive democratic spaces for young Europe. This project is funded under Horizon 2024 by the European Union, and granted for the period 2024-2027.
The project’s purpose is to make European democracy more inclusive by bringing young people, especially those often left out, into the conversation. YOUROPE wants to give them real opportunities to influence decisions, create better policies, and make democracy work for everyone.
The role of the EYP is to connect the researchers to (more) young people and decision makers on local and European level. This will happen in some of the countries where the consortium is present: Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Türkiye and United Kingdom.

In November 2024, Saskia and Anya from the International Office of the EYP joined for the kick-off event. Here the consortium partners discussed their internal organisation, met with the European Commission, and spent a full day to the planning of the project and its different work packages.

The consortium consists of Lodz University, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Academica University of Applied Sciences, Augsburg University, Coventry University, The European Wergeland Centre, Post Bellum, Mestenhauser Institute for International Collaboration, University of South Bohemia, Kassel University, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Yozgat Bozok University, Spanish Foundation for Human Rights, Schwarzkopf Foundation/European Youth Parliament, UNIR university, National University of Kyiv Mohylia Academy, and Knowledge Innovation Centre.

If you want to find out more about the research or how to get involved as a young person, please go to the project website where you can find more information. For more information on the role of the EYP In the project, please contact Saskia van Berloo.
