European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Volunteers

Volunteer Positions Available:

  • 2 positions starting on 1 August 2026
  • Min. 2 positions starting on 1 February 2027 (a third position may be available, subject to
    operational needs and budgetary considerations)

Duration: 12 months

Location: Berlin, Germany

We are currently seeking 4-5 full-time volunteers to join our teams as part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), formerly known as the European Voluntary Service. For more information about the ESC program, please visit the ESC website. Ideal candidates should have strong English language skills, good communication abilities, and a positive team spirit. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic, motivated, and genuinely interested in the goals of our organisation and its programmes. A strong desire to learn and grow through involvement in our activities is also important.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

As a volunteer, you will assist with various operational tasks at the EYP’s International Office in Berlin. Specific responsibilities will be determined during the interview process based on your skills and experience. Your tasks may include:

  • Providing general support to the work of the EYP International Office
  • Assisting with practical preparations for events and trainings, including International Sessions, Governance events such as the EYP Board of National Committees Meeting and capacity-building events like the Training Academy
  • Supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of Understanding Europe activities, including educational events and related materials
  • Assisting in coordinating participant management for events involving young people from across Europe
  • Supporting communications tasks and activities
  • Facilitating knowledge exchange among EYP’s National Committees and the Understanding Europe network
  • Preparing and updating databases
  • Assisting with the creation of reports and funding applications
  • Preparing and administering evaluations and surveys
  • Performing other tasks depending on your talents, interests as well as the current projects and events

Our work with volunteers and young people who are often in classes during standard work hours means that some activities occur in the evenings or on weekends. When this happens, you can take time off right after the event to balance out the extra hours, in accordance with organisational policy.

  • Reimbursement of up to € 330 for an in-person language course
  • Free health insurance, third-party liability insurance, and general accident insurance
  • On-Arrival Training and a Midterm Meeting organised by the national agency for ESC volunteers in Germany
  • A 36-hour work week with 30 days of vacation plus free days on 24 and 31 December
  • Free time to maintain and foster mental and physical health during working hours (‘Wellbeing Hour’)

Be aware that only applicants from ESC-approved countries can be considered. Make sure to check your eligibility before applying. Please note that due to programme regulations, we can only consider applicants who do not require a visa for the volunteering positions starting on 1 August 2026. Applicants requiring a visa are warmly encouraged to apply for a start date of 1 February 2027 instead.

Interns

We invite any students who are seeking internships as a part of their university curriculum to reach out to explore opportunities with the EYP Team.

The next available internship will begin in June, and last for at least four months.

Requirements:

  • We are looking for individuals who are interested in the work of the European Youth Parliament, want to learn more about youth empowerment, and wish to contribute to the work of a vibrant, Europe-wide network of young people.
  • The internship must be a part of a school or university curriculum. We do not accommodate internships outside of this scope.
  • The internship should ideally last at least 4 months, and up to 6 months.
  • We give preference to applicants with funded internships (for example, those supported by Erasmus+).
    • If you’re internship is funded, please feel free to approach us, even outside of the mentioned applications times.
  • You will need to work at our office in Berlin – remote internships are not possible.
    • So, being based in Berlin is a bonus!
  • Please note that we only consider applicants who hold a valid work permit for Germany (EU Work Permit). We will not be able to consider any applicants who need a visa. However, do keep an eye on our ESC opportunities, where applicants from all over are welcome, including those that need a visa.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing general support to the work and projects at the office.
  • Assisting with practical preparations for our events, including logistics and participant management.
  • Supporting the coordination of trainings and webinars.
  • Supporting communications tasks and activities.
  • Facilitating knowledge exchange between our national committees.
  • Working on databases.
  • Helping with funding – both applications and reporting.
  • Preparing evaluations and surveys.
  • Performing other tasks depending on your talents, interests, and the current projects and events.

What we offer:

  • Monthly remuneration between €400 and €600 depending on the type of internship.
