During the past weekend, the Board of National Committees, the international assembly consisting of all national organisations of the European Youth Parliament met in Berlin. 68 participants from 35 national committees were present and several key decisions on the development of the network were taken during the meeting.

The European Youth Parliament is launching an EYP Member Survey, designed to give us a better understanding of which young people we are currently reaching with our work. With a clearer vision of their backgrounds, we believe EYP will be able to evaluate our current state of inclusion and then make improvements in this field.

Between the 29th and 31st of August 95 young Europeans from 33 countries gathered in Wannsee close to Berlin for the first Summer Academy of the European Youth Parliament – a unique training and knowledge sharing event.

The European Youth Parliament is a feedback based organisation and we put great effort into evaluating and examining the results our projects. The evaluation by the participants of one of our flagship events the 78th International Session in Izmir, Turkey, has just been published. You are invited to study the report closely to learn about the strengths and best practices of the session and areas that can be improved for future events.

During the previous week the European Youth Parliament in Ukraine organised a conference under the theme United for Peace. The event took place in Lutsk and gathered 140 participants from 12 countries and all regions of Ukraine.

Thanks to recent fundraising successes, the International Office of the EYP is able to launch a small NC Support Fund for this year. We are very happy to open a call for proposals from all EYP National Committees.

On Monday 27th July, the Opening Ceremony of Tampere 2015, the 79th International Session of the European Youth Parliament, took place at the Tampere Theatre. The Opening Ceremony included a panel discussion with two members of the honorary board of Tampere 2015 and a member of the European Parliament.
