At the beginning of this year, Germany took over the chairmanship of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which inspired the Schwarzkopf foundation to create events for the year 2016 that involve young people in shaping ideas for international security in Europe parallel to the high-level politics.

A new year is here and with it also new winds in European Youth Parliament. As of January 1st, the three new members of the governing body Beata, Lars-Erik and Jenny start their mandates. The Governing Body is responsible for ensuring the educational value of EYP, taking care of HR and establishing a long-term strategy for the network. You can read more about their work here.

A panel discussion was organised for interested young students in Berlin within our project“Power Shifts - Reflecting Europe's Energy” on November 24. The guests gathered to discuss the opportunities and challenges digitalisation poses on the energy sector just a few days before the UN Climate Change Conference COP21 in Paris.

From 26th of October until 2nd of November around 120 young Europeans from over 20 countries gathered for the first Academic Power Shifts Forum in Lyon. They discussed various aspects on energy policies in Europe within five topic dimensions.

During the past weekend, the Board of National Committees, the international assembly consisting of all national organisations of the European Youth Parliament met in Berlin. 68 participants from 35 national committees were present and several key decisions on the development of the network were taken during the meeting.
