National Committee Spotlight – EYP France

Greetings from EYP France !

Letʼs take a tour (de France) of everything that our National Committee has to offer.

As some of you might know, EYP France has its own way of working. Divided into six zones, the French territory is fragmented into different regional committees (Nord-Est, Centre-Est, Grand Sud, Centre-Ouest, Grand-Ouest and Ile-de-France).

This network of commitment, and being closely aligned with the needs of our volunteers is a strength of EYP France. It is also part of our decision to not subject participation in our events to selection by a jury. Of course, experience and motivation are essential, but we at EYP France believe it is not necessary to “climb a ladder” in order to continue participation – and what could be better than involving as many people as possible?

In addition to our participation in international, regional and national EYP sessions, we offer another form of engagement that is unique to us. Convinced that dialogue and debate should be accessible to all in order to protect our democracy, we bring this space closer to young people – all young people. Volunteer facilitators from EYP France visit secondary schools and organisations that work with underprivileged youth, giving them a voice to talk about their experiences and their hopes for the future.

President of EYP France, Lisa Menetrier shared her EYP story with us: “As everyone in the EYP network, the story of ‘How I ended up in the Board of EYP France’ could easily make a whole TV series. In my case, the story leads to the presidency of EYP France. Letʼs start with season one starring a young and clueless participant, spotted by the Regional Board at her first session and recruited as a Communication Manager.

Plot twist: she soon develops social media anxiety and promises herself sheʼd leave the association as soon as possible. Ironically, Season two follows her unexpected EYP journey as she keeps on reluctantly accepting another mandate and then another one and another one again… until she actually finds herself enjoying it: late-night Booklet editing, Google Meet gossip, emotional Closing Ceremonies and the beautiful friendships that made her want to do more.

Hold on to your seats as the growing idea of running for National President led to a suspenseful season three. But, as in every movie, unity and friendship prevailed over division and rivalry. Who doesn’t like a happy ending?

On behalf of the new board of EYP France—stay tuned because the next season is just beginning.”

The past few weeks have been busy for EYP France. At the start of the new term, the priority was to set up the Board, define how it would operate, and help its members connect with one another. At the same time, the National Commitee has also been preparing its annual SENAR, a training seminar that helps active members better understand their role within the network. The SENAR is therefore an opportunity for many of the regional board members to learn about their position and the missions they will be entrusted with during their term of office.

Clara Rémy, in charge of national events, and Dorian Morgenroth, in charge of training, are particularly active in this area at the moment, alongside the Ile-de-France committee, which co-organised the seminar for this new edition, which was unique in that it focussed on media training from September 19, 20 to 21, 2025.

At the same time, Baptiste Orteu, first vice-president, is actively seeking members for the enlarged national board, conducting a series of interviews to find suitable profiles for each area (events, training, communications, programs and more).

Finally, Lisa Ménétrier, President of the NC, recently announced the European programs scheduled for this year. Indeed, another of our National Committee’s original features lies in the implementation of annual programs within the regional committees, in partnership with the European Union and Erasmus+, .

Between the Open-Vox and Forg’Europe programs in high schools, the Divers’Idée programme in out-of-school structures, and collaborative projects with other EYP National Committees, the formats are varied but the aim is unique: to encourage young people far removed from citizenship to discover, reflect and act together. One thing’s for sure: the EYP France has no shortage of ambition or energy to bring European citizenship to life for young people everywhere.

This NC Spotlight was brought to you by Malena Frayssinet (Vice-President of EYP France in charge of programmes), Lisa Menetrier (President of EYP France), Vicky Garnier (Vice-President of EYP France in charge of communication), and Clara Remy (Vice-President of EYP France in charge of events).
