More and more EYP Alumni are helping the EYP to establish new partnerships - by facilitating contact with their institutions, or by establishing links with their networks. Such partnerships are important, as they provide much-needed resources for our activities, and help us to create long-term impact. We got in touch with Valeriia Cherednichenko (UA), EYP Alumna working for the UNHCR, to ask how she became a "Door Opener" for the EYP - paving the way for a very successful partnership that has now been ongoing for 2 years. Read here what she had to say...

We are thrilled to share that we have once more held our Alumni Happy Hours in the Spring of 2019! In May, more than 60 EYP Alumni got together to celebrate the Day of Europe. Happy Hours are cozy and laid-back reunions for former EYPers to get together and reconnect in an informal and relaxed environment.

"Only by seeing and feeling that, at least here in Europe, nationalities are outdated concepts can we embrace the upcoming challenges." - Radoslaw Skowron (PL) We got in touch with EYP Alumni currently working in different positions in the Law field to ask them about the impact of EYP on their current careers. Here is what Radoslaw Skowron (PL) and Alexandros Politis (GR) had to say:

We had the utmost pleasure to chat with Jan-Philipp Beck, former EYPer with a long session history, former president of EYP Germany, who has participated in several Board of National Committees (BNC) meetings, has served on the Governing Body (GB) and also as the Executive Director of EYP. Here is what he had to say about how EYP influenced his personal trajectory and how he still engages with our organisation as an alumnus.

2018 was an extremely fruitful year for the EYP Alumni network. Among other projects and initiatives, the EYP Happy Hours were brought forward too. Happy Hours are cozy and laid-back reunions for former EYPers to get together and reconnect in an informal and relaxed environment. Overall, up to 100 participants joined in and reconnected during the 5 Spring and 7 Autumn Happy Hours which took place this year. We would hereby like to take a moment and thank all of the organisers who took the initiative to host such an event in their city and also have a look at a few of the festive pictures that were captured in some of the Happy Hours.

In 2018, one of the noteworthy milestones for alumni activities was the launch of the first ever EYP mentorship pilot programme. It provides the alumni of the network with a chance to contribute to the personal development of current EYP participants. The aim of this initiative is to bring together young EYPers who are beginning their professional careers (and are, for example, finishing their studies and seeking their first jobs) with EYP alumni who are already experienced and can share their expertise with the next generation. This year, 18 tandems from 16 countries have met to begin this joint mentorship venture. Meet one mentee, Isidora Smigic from Serbia and her mentor, Katharina Okulski from Austria who participated in the first ever EYP mentorship programme.

The first ever EYP Mentorship pilot programme was launched in June and is now in full swing. EYP community has welcomed the idea with enthusiasm and applied as both Mentors and Mentees. The first18 tandems from 16 countries have met to begin their joint mentorship adventure.
