The European Youth Parliament is run by young people for young people. The peer-led EYP Councils allow more EYP members to actively shape our organisation. Meet young volunteers who will chair 5 EYP Councils this year.

"EYP allows you to take on challenges and stretch your comfort zone. You and the project you work on are always connected to others, and yet you still maintain ownership of your work." Vardges Shahmenendyan, 22, is the president of the National Committee of the European Youth Parliament in Armenia. He studies architecture and works at an architecture studio in Yerevan. Read the full interview here.

Last week it was really "hot" in Thessaloniki as the 38th National Selection Conderence of EYP Greece supported from the Power Shifts Fund 2018 took place. Around 200 participants from all around the country had a chance to discuss energy related and environmental topics under the frame of the session's overall motto: “Contemporary education in an ever – changing world; Rethinking the approach of modern education systems in a rapidly progressing society”. We had a chance to talk to one of the Head Organisers of the session, Elisavet Sidiropoulou who shared with us her impressions as well as her opinion on the future of Europe's energy.

We had the utmost pleasure to chat with Jan-Philipp Beck, former EYPer with a long session history, former president of EYP Germany, who has participated in several Board of National Committees (BNC) meetings, has served on the Governing Body (GB) and also as the Executive Director of EYP. Here is what he had to say about how EYP influenced his personal trajectory and how he still engages with our organisation as an alumnus.

2018 was an extremely fruitful year for the EYP Alumni network. Among other projects and initiatives, the EYP Happy Hours were brought forward too. Happy Hours are cozy and laid-back reunions for former EYPers to get together and reconnect in an informal and relaxed environment. Overall, up to 100 participants joined in and reconnected during the 5 Spring and 7 Autumn Happy Hours which took place this year. We would hereby like to take a moment and thank all of the organisers who took the initiative to host such an event in their city and also have a look at a few of the festive pictures that were captured in some of the Happy Hours.
