The 69th International Session of EYP is about to start in Istanbul
Under the motto “Bridging the Cultural Divides of Europe”, the European Youth Parliament will bring together 300 young people from 36 countries in Istanbul between March 23rd and April 1st, 2012.
The 69th International Session will be the first ever held in Turkey by the European Youth Parliament, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year after being founded in France in 1987.
The young delegates – aged 16 to 22 – will debate topics that are on the European agenda at the very moment, reaching from Europe’s responsibility in Syria to the financial discipline in Europe.
The event starts with Teambuilding and Committee Work held outside of Istanbul, before moving to the city center for the General Assembly held on March 30th and 31st at the Provincial Assembly of Istanbul. At this stage, the young people will debate and vote on resolutions they have drafted in international committees before.
Numerous politicians and other public figures will visit the Session, among them Alexandra Thein, MEP and British Member of Parliament Michael Connarty.
