3rd EYP-Ukraine Regional Session in Kyiv

During four days in February, 60-70 participants from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Macedonia, Georgia, Greece, and Sweden will come together in Kyiv and attend the 3rd EYP-Ukraine Regional Session. They will focus on the following general topic of the session: “Human Trafficking and Migration: EU and the Neighbour-States”.
The Regional Session 2006 is supported by the International Organization for Migration, Mission in Ukraine (IOM) within the framework of the project Countering Human Trafficking in Ukraine, funded by the United States Agency for International Development. The premises are kindly provided by the Institute of International Affairs, Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. Experts from IOM, UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), International Women Right Center ‘La Strada-Ukraine’ and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine will participate in the session.
Among honorary guests to attend to official opening ceremony are the Deputy Chief of the IOM Mission in Ukraine, Fredric Larsson, the Head of the Institute of International Affairs, Leonid Huberskyy, and the President of ‘La Strada Ukraine’, Kateryna Levchenko. Hennadiy Udovenko, Member of Parliament and the Head of the Committee on Human Rights, Rights of National Minorities and Intercultural Relations of the Supreme Council, has confirmed his presence. Yuriy Pavlenko, the Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, as well as other high ranking officials are expected.
The Executive Director of MTV Europe Foundation, Thomas Ehr, will present the “MTV EXIT” program to counter human trafficking during the Kyiv Regional Session 2006.
