22nd National Selection Conference of EYP Germany | Berlin 2012 | Thinking Outside Borders

From May 27th – 31st EYP Germany is happy to host its 22nd National Selection Conference gathering more than 100 delegates. Taking place in one of the politically and culturally most vibrant cities of modern Europe – Berlin – the session’s theme “Thinking Outside Borders” promises heated debates in an inspiring atmosphere.

Following EYP Germany’s first Regional Selection Conferences in Traunstein and Hamburg in February and March, this year’s National Selection Conference will take place in Berlin from Sunday, May 27 until Thursday, May 31, 2012. Germany’s historically, culturally and politically prominent capital will be an ideal setting to discuss the current state of the EU’s foreign policy. Inspired by the session’s theme “Thinking Outside Borders” the committees will work on different aspects of the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy and its role in current global conflicts. The session will be presided by MONICA BOTA MOISIN from Romania. Klaus Wowereit, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, has granted his patronage to the session.

From both regional sessions six school delegations each will be invited to attend Berlin 2012. The delegates will work together in nine committees chaired by German and international alumni. The call for chairpersons, editors and journalists will be published on Monday, February 27, 2012. Officials are asked to arrive on Friday May 25, 2012 until 5 pm to ensure a full day of teambuilding and training before the delegates’ arrival on May 27. All the participants will be accommodated at the lakeside of beautiful Wannsee, while General Assembly will take place in the political heart of Berlin – the Berlin House of Deputies. Organisational excellence will be facilitated by EYP Germany’s former office manager JONATHAN ENGEL and his fantastic team. And if you have yet to attend a party in Berlin yourself, trust us: the rumours are true!

Finally, we would like to point out that the EYP’s annual summer party is scheduled for Saturday June, 2nd in the courtyard of the International Office in Berlin. We welcome international participants of this year’s NSC to extend their stay in Germany for two days in order to take part in this great EYP celebration. Come join us for one of this year’s greatest weeks of EYP.
