EYP Sessions and Events
International Summer Forum
location: Menden, Germany
description:
The International Summer Forum will combine three cutting-edge programme elements, which constitute an innovation in the field of parliamentary simulations. These formats will add quality to the exchange of the delegates with the event’s host, the citizens of Menden.
Setting out with the RegioTalks, the delegates will visit companies, associations and institutions connected to their respective committee topics, get to know internal procedures, experience the scope of European issues on a regional level and include them in their working process. This session element will allow participants to develop a personalised connection to their topic and enable a direct and individualised exchange with citizens of Menden.
Following the on-site visits, the GlobalTalks will give delegates the opportunity to discuss their previously made impressions with experts from politics, the economy, the scientific community and civil society. This unique opportunity of an intense exchange will lead to the establishment of a profound and reflected view on the complex Europeanisation of local problems.
European cultural diversity will be celebrated at the EuropeanStage in the heart of the city itself. During this evening event, the participants of the International Summer Forum of EYP Germany will present their home countries at a street festival. All citizens of Menden are invited to this informal gathering to celebrate European diversity and personally get to know the visitors to their city.
Therefore, the International Summer Forum not only revolves around the question of implementation and perception of European decisions but also enables a conscious exchange between the European youth and a wide range of local actors of Menden. This leads to a personalised debate about the advantages and disadvantaged of a deepening European integration.
The event is head-organised by Maximilian Kiehn (maximilian.kiehn@eyp.de).
